port to the AmigaOne/MAI Teron CX/MAI Teron PX consumer PowerPC motherboards.
is a new PowerPC ATX mainboard aimed at the consumer market.
is not like other PPC machines e.g PowerMacs, it is similar to a PC ATX
board, e.g it uses a VIA Southbridge, except it has a PowerPC CPU and
PowerPC specific Northbridge (MAI Logic Articia S).
The board's web site is: http://www.eyetech.co.uk/amigaone
The firmware of the board is not OpenFirmware (like PowerMacs), it is a modified version of "ppcboot/u-boot" (http://ppcboot.sourceforge.net, http://sourceforge.net/projects/u-boot), which is open source.
The aim of this project is to port the Linux kernel to the AmigaOne board.
Work on this
has already started, and we are already running Linux 2.4.19 and Linux
2.4.21 on the board, but the kernel port is still in an early stage, and
is in need of further work and help.
